Job Description: 

QED System, LLC, currently has an opening for a Software Code Developer (C/C++) to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. A developer in this role will perform the modernization and integration of an extensive library of modeling and simulation (M&S) capabilities into a unified publish-subscribe (pub-sub) framework to support analysis of position, navigation, and timing systems (e.g., GPS, jamming, and other sensors). Successful candidates will have a solid background in software development and will be highly self-motivated and collaborative. 

 

Primary Duties: 

  • Modernization and optimization of Windows-based C++ software 

  • Integration of M&S software modules into a unified pub-sub framework 

  • Learn the basics of Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) M&S to support the integration of new models and features. 

  • Perform software quality testing on developed code. 

  • Provide services to the customer at customer facilities with occasional travel required. 

  • Provide software documentation to the customer periodically. 

 

Requirements/Skills: 

Required 

  • At least 1-2 years of professional experience developing C/C++ software (demonstrated similar experience such as C#, Java, or other object-oriented programming environment may also qualify) 

  • Experience with API documentation and adherence to coding style guidelines. 

  • Verbal communication skills – the ability to brief technical subjects to non-developers.  

 

Preferred: 

  • Experience using revision control/configuration control utilities such as Subversion or Git. 

  • Experience developing in Microsoft Visual Studio or similar IDE. 

  • Good understanding of undergraduate-level physics. 

 

Work Environment: 

  • Ability to work independently, as well as, part of a team 

  • Must have good inter-personal, writing, and verbal skills 

  • Must be focused and detail-oriented 

  • Must be responsive to schedule and task deadlines 

  • Must be willing and capable of working with teams of Government and Contractors 

  • Travel is not anticipated but may be occasionally required to CONUS destinations for short periods of time. 

 

Education: 

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is desired but demonstrated skills/experience in C/C++ development will also be considered. 

 

Compensation: 

QED offers a competitive compensation package for employees. Salaries are negotiable based on skill level and experience. 

 

Clearance: 

An Active US Department of Defense clearance of SECRET, TS, or TS/SCI is preferred. 

Qualified candidates who do not hold a current clearance but are able to obtain U.S. Department of Defense SECRET security clearance will be considered.
